Following Jesus.
We seek to express our faith by embracing a lifestyle that involves: worship, prayer, witness, care and practical action.
In Worship
We want every part of our lives to be an act of worship. We express our love for God in all we do and say. When we gather, in large groups or small, we want to express our worship - in every possible way. So times of open worship characterise our meetings - expressed in prayer, praise, songs, silence, or scripture reading. Enjoying the presence of God in shared worship not only honours God, but also strengthens us.
In Witness
We encourage everyone to consider themselves as 'chaplains' of the place where they invest their time and energies. We are the missionaries in that situation. We encourage personal hospitality towards friends and neighbours, and also suggest that cells plan regular relaxed social events where they can get to know each other's friends. Once a month the church holds social events as a relaxed means of growing our friendships in the community. The cells take it in turn to organise these events.
In Care
The church has an active pastoral care strategy
* Supporting cell leaders Each cell has appointed a Pastoral Co-ordinator to ensure that pastoral issues are not overlooked. * Pastoral support Responding to crises by offering prayer ministry. They can also recommend specialised help for people experiencing particular difficult life issues. * Life Events Preparation / support with major life events - marriage, parenting, bereavement, divorce, pregnancy, etc.
In PrayerWe encourage prayer in the church in a variety of ways: * Monthly Prayer Meeting This is held on the fourth Saturady of every month at 8.30am at Community Wise * Cell Groups Prayer is one of the four components of every meeting. Prayer for individuals in the group is encouraged, with emphasis on praying for our life and witness among those who do not yet know Christ. * Prayer Triplets We encourage people to seek out one or two others to pray with on a regular basis. Some meet weekly, others at least once a month and are usually of the same gender. Triplets allow individuals to be more open than they might be in a larger group. It is a good place to find support and prayer for some of the tough issues we all sometimes face. * Prayer Specials The church is involved in prayer projects with other churches and groups and information on these appears in the church news bulletin.
* 24/7 From time to time we set aside a whole week to pray 24-hours a day for 7 days.
Through Projects We support and take an active part in the following projects: click here for more information
