Saturday I wonder if the enforced rest of the Passover was more frustrating to the women than the men? The women had prepared spices and oils to pour over Jesus body, but because they were devout Jews, they had to stay at home and not do any work. Thursday (Luke 23) Jesus is now taken to Pilate who tries to pass the buck by sending Him to Herod. Herod sends Jesus back to Pilate, who gives the people a choice. He will release Jesus, who as far as he can see has done absolutely nothing criminal, or Barabbas, who has committed murder and should die anyway. The crowd choose Barabbas. Wednesday (Matthew 26v17 – 75) If you can source a map of Jerusalem showing Jesus footsteps in His last days this would be helpful, because in the space of a few hours, Jesus is taken to several places within Jerusalem, being beaten all along the way.
