Hello everyone - good news: joseph Greenan has won, for two years running, the Bible Knowledge Competition for the whole of Sussex Boys Brigade. Brilliant Joseph.

Community Wise has won an award from EDF Energy for £3000 (ooooh!). (They have millions of course.) The money is to undertake a renewable energy appraisal and help us to implement the proposals. The appraisal took place this Monday past. We could have solar panels and other such stuff by 200… Continue

The appraisal took place this Monday past. We could have solar panels and other such stuff by 2009 making us world leaders in green, no carbon footprint, recycling walk to Waitrose every week Community Centres! Cool! (I think the word 'cool' should be replaced with 'warm'.)

Community Wise had a visit from an honorary person this week - David Tutt, the leader of the Council came on Tuesday morning. He used to attend a youth club here in the 70s!

Did you know that I was a pool champion! I beat Dennis Robinson and Jordan Sherriff on Tuesday evening. I am open to challengers who would like to take my crown. I think I must be the Sussex ladies aged 55 plus champion.

Sounds like an excellent speaker, who was he?
It is one of my dreams also for the gospel to be spread like this.
I hope some more initiatives can be thought up to reach people like the street cleaners.
Not attending the Toddler group at the moment because of the nice weather and my children want the little ones outside in the park or somewhere.
Thank you again Martin and Sue for the best church I have known,
Helena.

Hello everyone - I wanted to tell you about the Civic Breakfast organised by Churches Together for Eastbourne last week. It was awesome. There were 100 or so guests - it was reported in the Herald. A line of people in a photograph, very easy to spot the difference (not!). Anyway, the guests were Eastbourne's VIPs, numbering 100 or more. All very posh and classy with the Mayor and Nigel Waterson. I sat next to David Tutt, leader of the Council. To get to the point: 1) He asked to visit Community Wise. 2. The speaker was absolutely brilliant. He explained the Christian faith in a relevant, contemporary, accurate, carefully argued and non-preachy way. No embarrassing factor at all! And all those people were won over! David Tutt was clearly impacted and impressed. This is one of my dreams - the gospel in the market place/Town Hall - thank you Lord. Pray for the corridors of power in Eastbourne

The next initiative is to hold an award ceremony in a town centre fish and chip shop - with free meal - for the Street Cleaners - the best 'team' and 'individual' will be nominated by Sita. Churches Together sponsoring. Pray for Eastbourne's Street Cleaners!

Blessings everybody - Sue
