The starting time on Sunday morning

Do people have feedback on the idea of moving the Family service to 10.00am and the preaching/adult worship to 10.30am. The aim would then be to finish by 12.00 midday instead of 12.30pm

From my point of view it would be good as it would mean i got back earlier to be with the not-yet-Christian family! So i wouldn't object.

We too will soon be joining the ranks of those who are up early with little people, however - I do also speak as one who has experienced being a lazy student...an 11am start remains preferable for many young people who can't manage to get out of bed! Also - we do need to remember that starting at 10 would require Life Groups to begin setting up at 9am - will everyone be happy with that? In principle I'm all for it - because for us, a 12:30 finish means that we never leave the building before 1pm and I'd much rather be home earlier than that - but I just wanted to throw some other thoughts in there!!

i agree that getting there at 9am to set up removes any chance of lazy sunday morning lie-ins which is sad. getting away earlier though is the advantage so not sure what i think!

I don't think there is much difference between a 9.30 set-up start and 9.00 start... either way it's not really much of a lie-in! Controversial... if we reverted to just one service for all (making the first part child-friendly) we could ALL start at 10.30... JUST a thought...!!

I think it would be great to have one service where everyone is involved, from youngest to eldest. But - we are a growing church and can't fit everyone in! On 2nd sundays when the childen and their group leaders/parents stay up for communion the church is often so full that anyone arriving after 11.10 can't find a seat. Dave - can we have a bigger building please?!?!? :o)

I think one service for everyone is a great idea, can't we just play around with the seating layout to ensure more people can be seated and say have less space at the front for the speakers and band. Controversially, i would like to see the whole service start for everyone at 10am.
